Estonia-England football

Hannah 06.06.2007 17.55

So here’s the answer!

It’s 6th June 10.20 it's very important day for England and also for Estonia. After leaving Estonia I was very relieved with my decision to come to London because 3500 English football fan is big amount for little Tallinn. And they were everywhere enjoying themselves! Did you know that according the calculation those fans will leave 20-million krone's to Estonia (1 pound is 23 krone's)?
So I’m here for three reasons – two radio interview’s and evening event with performance and football.
Let’s start with first two – BFBS Forces Radio and TalkSport Radio.
BFBS went on air at the end of 1943 when an experimental Forces Radio station was opened in a harem in Algiers. Since then, its two networks have broadcast from 20 countries and 67 radio stations to a total of 200 million listeners around the world.

It was great to meet finally a female presenter - Hermina Campbell. The Hermina Campbell Show is on air 11.00-14.00 UK time every weekday. She brings a mixture of chat and celebrity guests with a firm emphasis on fun and entertainment.
Hermina's first foray into the media was during her work experience week at school. Harbouring ambitions of one day being a foreign correspondent she secured a place with the ‘Marlborough Times'. Her reporting style, it was suggested would be more appropriate to a tabloid! Not deterred, during a year in the South of France for her degree, she talked her way into a French Radio Station and on to air. Talking for a living…she had discovered her dream job!
Before joining BFBS, Hermina worked for the BBC World Service and the Falkland Islands Broadcasting Station.
You can listen her show here:
And here we are also with the producer of the show:

After that a quick drive to next radio called TalkSport, what is new and interesting experience because we're going to talk about sport! As today is football match and everybody in England are only talking about that, I was very well prepared! To be totally honest with you – I’m not so big fan of football. I was following few games last year during the time I was in France and it was very interesting because France was playing against Portugal and won and their celebrations were huge and they were soooo happy! But now, as I don’t know much about football, I needed help. Thank God I have a brother – a very lovely one and luckily he’s working as a TV presenter on Estonia’s Sport TV. So he made for me a beautiful two pages review about football.
And I’m feeling myself very educated! Bad thing for Estonia is with today’s play that two our best players couldn’t play and I’m sure that would little bit affect the result. But let’s see and let’s keep our fingers grossed!

So anyway, the show I’m going called PAUL HAWKSBEE & ANDY JACOBS SHOW.
Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs became friends in 1998 when Andy invited Paul to join the team on ITV’s Fantasy World Cup. Andy had watched as much old football as was humanly possible during the 50-plus shows he’d produced for Baddiel Skinner and thought he could do with some company.
Paul and Andy’s job was to give the two sofa-bound satirists some of the ammunition to help them fire the bullets. David and Frank will happily tell anyone who’ll listen how frequently they missed the target. They first appeared on our airwaves in the summer of 1999 on 505 and despite our best efforts to pretend we’d relocated, they somehow sneaked in through the back door and we’ve been stuck with them ever since. The boys are also known for their vast collection of talkSPORT gaffes. More about TalkSport.
I’ll continue my blog after the interview – OK!

So yeah, here I am now after the interview – and can you imagine – we were not talking about sport at all!!! Because the presenters were very happy to finally talk about something else (like music or Estonia) and so it went. But anyway it went very well, here we are:

An evening event starts after an hour; I’ll catch you again tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening with football – but don’t forget, everything happens for the reason…

Love,
Hannah
