Biography

hannahHannah is an extraordinarily gifted songwriter, singer and pianist hailing from Talinn , Estonia whose unique blend of ballads and classic pop has dominated the charts in her home country for more than a decade.

Hannah has amassed a number of awards, including Best Dance Hit of the Year at the 2001 Estonian Musical Awards and Best Female Artist in 2003 & 2004 and Best Album in 2004 at The Estonian Golden Record Awards.

Writing, composing and performing her own music, Hannah’s talent and professionalism has made her a household name in Estonia . 2007 sees Hannah bringing her music to a wider audience.

Born into a musical family on 12th May 1981 , Hannah has been singing since she was a child, joining the Children Music Studio at 3 until she went to the Estonian Radio Singing Studio at 5.

Aged 7 Hannah started at the Tallinn Music School before joining the elite Estonian National TV Choir. Excelling in piano and honing her vocal skills at music school, Hannah was just 13 when, in 1995, she composed her first song which won first place in the Estonian Children’s Song Competition and encouraged her to continue penning and composing music. 

In 1997, aged 16, Hannah left the TV Choir to begin her solo career and has been in the limelight ever since with a succession of top ten hits on her home turf. Hannah also studied Media and Advertising at University.

Hannah’s favourite artists include Frank Sinatra, The Corrs, Travis and U2. Her hopes for the future are that her music continues to touch people and that her International Debut album is a huge success! Hannah describes herself as loyal, honest and ambitious and is looking forward to doing more live shows in 2008.

When Hannah is not touring or in the studio she devotes her time to humanitarian causes, fronting an animal welfare campaign in Estonia and being an active member of IFAW. Hannah loves the nature and peace of her homeland, and enjoys spending time at her seaside summer house, but finds she misses the buzz and social life of London when she leaves. 

Recent highlights for Hannah include being the official Ambassador For Tourism 2008 by Visit Estonia, the marketing arm of the Estonian Tourist Board. Of her appointment Hannah enthused “I am very proud to come from Estonia and it means a great deal to me to be the Ambassador of Tourism for Estonia. The country is beautiful yet quite undiscovered and I am looking forward to introducing people to the stunning countryside, the wonderfully rejuvenating spas, the islands, the nature and the incredible history of Estonia.”  Read more here.

Hannah sang the Estonian & English national anthems at the Euro 2008 Qualifier between England & Estonia on 13th October 2008 in front of an audience of 90,000 people (not including the many millions watching on tv, online & tuning in over the airwaves!).
