Just before Christmas we got an early present with the news that Hannah's 'Keeping Score' had entered the Billboard dance charts. Now we're even happier because it's leapt right up the chart to #24 on the Hot Dance and Club Charts.

We're so happy that Hannah's getting America dancing. Make sure you keep requesting it at your favourite club and we can take it all the way to the top!

They loved Hannah's dance hit 'Blinded' a couple of years ago and we're delighted today to hear the news that America is loving 'Keeping Score' just as much.
Hannah's first US release in a few years has charted straight away in the Billboard dance chart at #37 and looks set only to rise and rise. With remixes from Bimbo Jones and Digital Dog, we've now added a brand new remix from The Sharp Boys for our American release.

Watch out America - Hannah's coming!

Our girl Hannah is only one away from Cheryl Cole! And I get the feeling it’s only a matter of time before she overtakes her altogether.

And if that isn’t good enough news we’ve also heard Hannah’s taking the US by storm in the Billboard Dance Chart.

Hannah Chats To FemaleFirst

Hannah is one of the most promising female performers to stumble onto the music scene at the moment, and with her awesome new single, Shadow on the Wall released next month, you really need to get in there before everyone else! I caught up with the beautiful little starlet for a chat…

Hello there, what are you up to?

Hello! At the moment I'm getting ready to release my new single 'Shadow on the Wall' in November. We shot the video for it last week and it got its first radio play on Radio 1 at the weekend, so it's all very exciting! Then it'll be time to start planning the release of my new album. I moved to London last year and have been working on it with brilliant songwriters and producers like Steve Booker, Grant Black, Steve Robson and Peter Vitesse. It's all a dream come true!

So, you're getting ready to release your new single Shadow on the Wall can you tell us a bit about it?

'Shadow on the Wall' is a very special song for me. I wrote it with a songwriter called Steve Booker who did 'Mercy' for Duffy and has done some songs with Alexandra Burke. It's all about somebody making you feel like a shadow on the wall. It's a personal story and I'm sure lots of us have been there. Sometimes people can be very imprudent and we very often don’t realise how our words affect the other person. The song is about rearranging your life and just wishing to move on…

The new single from that, comes out in November- why are you releasing that track now?

I think Shadow On The Wall is just a perfect example of what the album sounds like. It's an edgy, cool song with an amazing beat. I just have a feeling that it suits this time of year - it's a little bit dark and mysterious like those dark autumn evenings.

There is a lot of competition in the business today, do you think you have what it takes to give the big names a run for their money?

I agree - there's extremely heavy competition out there. In fact, there’s been 52 new female artists in UK this year plus all the successful and existing ones. I think as long as you do something what comes from your heart and as long as you believe in what you do – it’s worth to do it! I’ve been writing music since I was 13 years old and I can’t imagine my life without that…

So, this is simply what I do and how I express my feelings and emotions. Many people have asked me – what’s the song about, but you know, every song has a different meaning for different people really. People have different circumstances in their lives and they hear the song depending what is going on with their lives.

So, if you could recommend just one song of yours for us to download so that we want to hear all of your music, what would it be?

I know it sounds corny but there are seriously so many absolutely great tracks on the new album that it's near impossible to pick one. I've loved making them all, think they're great and am really proud of all the songs. I guess the single, Shadow on the Wall, is my favourite at the moment because we've just had some awesome remixes done by Bimbo Jones, Sharp Boys, Riff & Rays and Mischa Daniels which have totally transformed the track and made it really cool in yet another way.

If I was contemplating coming to your show or sitting at home and watching Big Brother, how would you get me out of the house?

Well first of all I would try to tempt you with chocolate! :-) Coming to see me, rather than sitting in, would be good fun because you'll get to experience Hannah live. I'm going to have a great band with me, lots of gorgeous outfits and some hot dancers. Plus you'll get to hear all my songs first and your friends will think you're cool!

We've got to admit you're a little bit cool, so what advice would you give to someone just starting out, knowing what you know now?

The main advice I'd give is to make sure you be yourself, as it's very easy to give in to what other people want and then you lose your own identity. Don't let anyone change you and surround yourself with people you really trust.

So, if HANNAH was an acronym what would each letter stand for?

	H – happy

	A – ambitious

	N - natural

	N - naughty

	A - amusing

	H – honest

If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I think it would be Duffy's 'Rockferry'. It's an amazingly dynamic album with lots of different moods on it and it brings me some great memories. I particularly love Stepping Stone and Warwick Avenue and can't believe I'm working with the same producer who wrote Stepping Stone & Mercy!

	Okay, now we want to ask you some random questions (that I robbed off my stepsisters's MySpace page);

What were you doing last night at 11?

I got in last night just before 11 from a brilliant night out with my friends. We all stayed in to watch X Factor together as we wanted to see Whitney perform and then went to a gorgeous little Italian restaurant near my house. Then when I got in I gave my mum back home a quick call to say goodnight!

What are you going to do after this interview?

It's cold outside, but I'm wrapped up warm ready to go for a jog in the park and feed the squirrels while I'm there!

When was the last time you did something incredibly stupid?

Well this isn't actually me, but my manager last week went to the totally wrong place for my video shoot. He was on the phone to me in the taxi and when it stopped he just got out without really checking where he was. After walking round for ages, he wasn't quite sure why there were some horses at the house he was at and then we realised he was at the wrong place! He had to walk a mile & a half to come and find me. I shouldn't keep people chatting on the phone obviously!

What's the last film you saw?

Well, I've seen it lots of times before but the last film I watched was A Good Year. It's a Russell Crowe film from a couple of years ago.

What's the last thing you bought?

I just bought a really nice piece from Maison Martin Margiela. They’ve only made 8 of them so far… plus I got some of their leggings. I love them.

Thank you Hannah, best of luck with everything!

Thank you! Lovely and interesting questions!

By Tim Masters
 Entertainment correspondent, BBC News

Estonian pop star Hannah is in bed, swathed in white sheets, bathed in sunlight and looking sultry.

Welcome to the opening scene of Hannah's latest video, Shadow on the Wall - a song she hopes will be her big break in the UK. But it could have all been so different.

Cut to the previous afternoon: Hannah is relaxing over a peppermint tea in the lounge of a smart London hotel.

"I got 40 different treatments for the video - about 15 were absolutely fabulous," she says.

"But some of them were extremely shocking, with an electric chair, prison scenes and really black humour. I said 'yeah, let's go for it', but then my plugger said 'you're never going to get on daytime TV with that video'."

Hang on, an electric chair?

"It was a very shocking idea," repeats Hannah, straight-faced. "It's one way to get publicity, but it's not who I am really."

With hindsight, Hannah's PR team made a good call.

Cultural ambassador

The singer - who is billed as "Estonia's big musical star" - is about to embark upon a UK schools tour and is an ambassador for Estonia's European City of Culture status in 2011.

A Marilyn Manson-style video would not have been good timing.

Hannah - or Hannah Ild, as she is known in the real world - has been a fixture in Estonia's pop charts for some 10 years.

She started piano lessons aged seven, wrote her first song at 13, and released her first album at 17. In the late 90s, she came second in her bid to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest.

After six albums, Hannah has swapped Tallinn for London, with the aim of breaking the UK market.

She admits that her last album, 2007's Everything is Changing, wasn't as successful as she had hoped.

"I didn't live in London at that time and you have to be here physically. I didn't understand anything about the global music market," she says.

Hannah has been working with songwriters like Steve Booker (who co-wrote Duffy's Mercy), with her sights set on the UK charts.

Her new album, also titled Shadow on the Wall, is due out by the end of the year.

Hannah hopes it will help throw off the Eurovision tag that tends to get placed on her as an artist.

"Eurovision is great fun, we won and we are not ashamed of that," she says, "but I think when then they hear I'm from Estonia, it's linked with Eurovision. I'm trying to break that link."

'Half-naked'

Now based in London, Hannah says she is enjoying the anonymity that a big city brings. So did she not get much peace in Tallinn?

"I can have my privacy if I want. If I go home, I prefer to stay at home. It is quite a small community and people are quite jealous with everybody who is a bit more successful."

Hannah says she's not interested in getting photographed falling out of nightclubs in London.

"I don't drink much. I have my self-control and I don't do stupid things."

So how does she relax?

"Sometimes I feed the squirrels in Hyde Park, but there are all the Facebook and Twitter pages to update."

She says she found Twitter difficult at first: "Estonians don't share their feelings!"

But Hannah - who studied media and marketing at university - does know what helps to sell records.

Here's what she told her Twitter followers during her video shoot the next day: "I'm in the bed, half-naked and singing the first verse..."

What's the betting she hasn't put that electric chair video idea in the bin just yet?

Hannah's Shadow on the Wall remixes were released this week. The single is due out on 22 November.

Released on November 16, its strong melodies and an instantly sing-a-long chorus make "Shadow On The Wall" a force to be reckoned with this Autumn. Hannah wrote it earlier in the year with award winning songwriter Steve Booker who has a great pedigree in writing for women having been the force behind Duffy's international #1 'Mercy'.

"I loved working with Steve," Hannah revealed. "He has this, almost unusual, sense of rhythm that really brings a song to life. 'Shadow on the Wall' is all about describing a moment when you're stuck in a situation and you're not sure how to get out of it. You know, those times when you want to move on but just can't let the past go."

As ever with Hannah, her vocals lend themselves to dance remixes, and following the success of 'Keeping Score' in the dance charts, we're pleased that Bimbo Jones and Riff & Rays are back on board to remix 'Shadow on the Wall'. Joining them in our exclusive remix package (due 28/9) will be The Sharp Boys and Dutch remix hero Mischa Daniels. At the same time, Europe and the US clubs can expect to get to grips with 'Keeping Score' as we service club remixes of Hannah's last single to those territories.

Co-written with Steve Robson, who's also written hits such as 'Shine' for Take That and 'Undiscovered' for James Morrison, 'Keeping Score' is a perfect piece of strong female pop music designed to soundtrack the long hot summer. Expect to dance to it in clubs as well as tap your foot along to the radio, as top-league remixers such as Bimbo Jones, Digital Dog and Riff and Rays have each added their individual spin on a remix.

Hannah Ild – an up and coming singer working with the team behind Duffy and Alicia Keys was also at the event. She has just had her first single remixed by Bimbo Jones and Digital Dog. Hannah’s single will be released in June and I’m told that it already has quite the cult following on the nightclub scene. The stunning fashionista has been tipped for the top by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and also has a keen eye for fashion and has designed a few accessories, ‘I am keen to make nightclub gloves for people, they look so great on the dancefloor!’ she said.

Hannah is just finishing her new album recordings and spent two days in studio with UK’s top producer Steve Booker. Steve's fantastic year of success has been recognised with his nomination for Best Newcomer at the Music Producers Guild Awards. Last year saw Steve's successful collaboration with Duffy, co-writing & producing four tracks on her debut album; including the international No.1 hit 'Mercy', as well as productions with the Sugababes & Alesha Dixon.

Hannah has co-written and record tracks with Steve and describing those days with excitement: „It’s been just amazing experience and a real honour to work with such a great producers! I can’t wait the first single release, it’s going to be incredible summer!“

ARTICLE TAKEN FROM METRO.CO.UKHannah talks to Metro about her upcoming tour with Jason Donovan

by ANDREW WILLIAMS - Thursday, July 31, 2008

Singer Hannah Ild, 27, is Estonia's highest profile musical export – and the country's tourism ambassador. She's released six albums at home but is making her international debut with Everything Is Changing, out now, before setting off on a British tour with Jason Donovan later this year. The piano-playing crooner releases her new single, Please Please, this week.

No one knows who you are here but you’re big in Estonia, apparently.
Yes, I’ve released six albums in Estonia but this is my first international one. It’s the next step.

Are you big in the ex Russian countries?
Just Estonia but I’m releasing in the UK, France and across Europe now. It’s very exciting. Things are going well so far. I’ve done a couple of radio tours and many performances now so it’s a busy and exciting time.

How does playing in Britain compare to playing in Estonia?
It’s impossible to compare because Estonia is so much smaller. It’s much easier to break through in Estonia because everyone comes to the UK to be successful. There are many singers and songwriters here, the competition is greater.

Is it demoralising playing in front of audiences here who have never heard of you?
It’s a new start for me. I have ten years’ experience, so hopefully I won’t be making mistakes. My success hasn’t been overnight. I’ve worked hard for it. I know success is valuable when it comes.

What was the first song you wrote?
I was 13. I won a competition with the song. It was called Childhood Land. It was about thinking you’re grown up when you’re a teenager.

I wouldn’t do Eurovision myself. If you are a good singer you usually end up at the bottom of the table

How do you describe your music?
It’s from the soul. I put all my feelings and experiences inside the songs. My music is from the heart.

You’re supporting Jason Donovan. Have you heard of him?
Of course. He was very big in Estonia when I was a teenager. I admire how he was so successful and has now worked his way up again after his experience with drugs. I find his story very inspiring. I’m hoping to have a great time on the tour.

Who else was big in Estonia?
Dodgy Eurodisco acts] Dr Alban and Haddaway [laughs]. I was listening more to Alanis Morissette though.

What’s been your most extravagant purchase?
I’m not very materialistic and I don’t like shopping. I only buy things when I need them but I like jewellery. I bought a white gold necklace from a nice boutique in Cannes recently.

What songs can’t you stand?
I spent most of the summer in France. There is a terrible song by a French artist with a deep voice who tries to sing in English, ‘Sun, sex and beach’. It is so awful. They play it every hour on French radio.

Why should we go to Estonia?
It’s a lovely place, small and peaceful. Just come and think your thoughts. We have wi-fi on every beach.

If Estonia’s so great, why are you all moving to Britain?
Estonia is very small. You can’t do big things there. It’s a nice place for a holiday but, if you need more activity, nightlife and all that fancy stuff, London is the best place.

What were the highs and lows of growing up under a communist regime?
I’m too young to remember the most awful times. There is no family in Estonia without a relative who was sent to the camps in Siberia. It’s been occupied by the Swedish, Danish and Germans but the Russians were the worst and that went on for 60 years. I’m grateful I didn’t live through the worst of it, I can only imagine what the older people went through.

Do you remember the revolution?
I was ten when we became free. We’re proud of our Singing Revolution, we didn’t use violence. Some 300,000 people – a huge amount as we only have 1.4million people in Estonia – came together and sang national songs which were banned. No one was killed. We sang ourselves free, which we are very proud of.

Would you enter the Eurovision Song Contest?
What kind of question is that? What do you think? Unfortunately, winning Eurovision in 2001 is the only thing some people know about us.

Has the former Soviet countries voting for each other ruined Eurovision for everyone?
It’s definitely a problem. It’s not about the music. This year, France and Denmark had great songs but they didn’t do very well. I wouldn’t do it myself. If you already have success, Eurovision can ruin your career. If you are a good singer with a good song, you usually end up at the bottom of the results table.

Hannah's concert at Kaarli Cathedral, Tallinn

"I was lucky to attend Hannah’s concert at Kaarli Cathedral in Tallinn on 16/01/08. To tell you a bit about it, doors opened at 6pm, an hour before the concert began at 7pm. Many people had already showed up by then. Next came soundchecks, the tuning of instruments & setting up the technical equipment. At 7pm, EMT (Eesti Mobiil Telefon), started the ceremony by awarding the money that had been raised by the charity. Then Hannah, who is also involved with this charity, came out to great applause.

Hannah was wearing a dark brown jacket, black trousers & black boots. Hannah sat down at the piano and opened with Please, Please. The second track was Everything Is Changing - the title track from her album of the same name. Other songs Hannah performed live included The Way, Vaikuse Tunnid, I See, Oh Baby, True Colours, They Said, I Can’t Make You Love Me, Call Me, You Are, Salaja, Lonely, Sind Otsima Jaan.

The atmosphere was incredible, everything went quiet as Hannah performed then when she finished a song everyone clapped like crazy. It was a dramatic setting, with a religious alter-piece forming the backdrop to the performers.

To the right of the stage, two screens listed the companies who helped out with the fundraising & showed how much money had been raised for the charity.

Hannah’s band consisted of a drummer, two guitarists, a synth player, three violinists, a cellist and six back-up singers. One of the highlights of the night for me was when the saxaphonist, Virgo, played some songs with Hannah.

It was the most incredible, beautiful concert.

Hannah's concert at the Estonian Embassy in Paris last week was a huge success. Attended by the French media, French and Estonian Diplomats, local dignitaries and some lucky competition winners, Hannah enjoyed the night and as usual, played a wonderful set. I See and You Are were both played, amongst other tracks from Everything Is Changing, on a beautiful full-size grand piano. Hannah has been getting huge press interest in France and she told us she would love to sing one of her songs in French (Hannah is a fluent French-speaker). Are you a Hannah fan based in France? Which song would you like Hannah to translate into French? Why don't you let her know by writing to Hannah?

Hannah's gig at The Cobden, London

Hannah's performance at The Cobden on Monday night was a huge success. Hannah played a special acoustic set, accompanied only by herself on a classic grand piano. It was truly moving hearing Hannah's skilled piano playing & beautiful voice just on their own - her music stripped down to the bare essentials. Hannah played a total of six songs (although she wanted to play more for the eager crowd!) and went down a storm. The 200-strong crowd was mesmerised, nobody said a word when Hannah was in song. The Cobden is housed in a stunning Victorian building that used to be a traditional Working Mens Club. In recent years the Grade II listed building has been transformed into a very chic, very happening members club in fashionable West London. Other artists who've recently performed at The Cobden include Nick Cave & Elvis Costello. We will be adding some pictures from the night as soon as possible. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who came along to support Hannah, we hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did. Hannah will be doing more live shows in the near future so check back soon to secure your tickets for the next gig!

Hannah will be performing the national anthems of both Estonia and England at the England v Estonia UEFA European Championship qualifier at Wembley on October 13th. Hannah has been invited by the British FA and the Estonian FA to sing “God Save The Queen“ and "Mu Isamaa, Mu Onn Ja Room" (My Native Land, My Pride and Joy) – a rare, if not unique, opportunity! Hannah will join the ranks of superstars who have performed at Wembley, most recently George Michael who kicked off his European tour on 9th June at the 90,000 capacity venue.

Speaking from Estonia, Hannah said today “It is such an honour to be asked to sing my country’s national anthem, but actually, in some ways, it is even more of an honour to be asked to sing the anthem of the host country England. I have sung in front of some very large audiences before, but I think this will be the biggest yet and Wembley is famous all over the world so it will be a very, very special occasion.”

You'll be able to watch Hannah perform & see the match, on BBC 1, and listen-in on BBC Radio 5 Live

Bravo Hannah !

Hannah caught up in Cannes forest fires

Hannah and her entourage were caught up in the forest fires that raged through Cannes last week. Hannah was over there making final preparations for the video shoot for her 2nd single, I See, and was left horrified when the flames almost engulfed her house. The fires are thought to have been caused by a car catching fire after an accident on the A8 motorway.

Taken from a Daily Mail news report, Cote D'Azur Government official Jacques Billant said "The fire was made worse by 60mph winds which made it move very quickly across large areas of pine forest". Hannah had packed up as many of her belongings as possible, fearing the imminent approach of the fire around her house, and was preparing to evacuate, when suddenly the fire changed direction and was brought under control by the fire services.

Hannah has written about the terrifying ordeal in her latest blog. She was lucky to escape unharmed and is undertandably still very shaken by the whole experience.

If anyone wishes to send Hannah well-wishes, please do so via her Myspace page.

Hannah On Radio 2

Estonia are playing England tonight in a European Cup qualifier. Of course, Hannah will be watching but is rather torn about who she supports - naturally she wants Estonia but since she is watching the game in London with many of her fans she doesn't want to upset them either!

However, to make things better, Chris Evans is going to be playing Hannah's new single, 'You Are' on his Radio Two show at around 6:15pm tonight. Please let Radio 2 know how much you like this track by visiting their website.

Hannah's prediction for the result? Well, she is cf course too polite to say, but she hopes England get some time to look around her beloved country before they return home.

London 2007: Snowdog Records is a new record label to be launched at Midem featuring two artists; Hannah, a 25 year old singer/songwriter produced by James McMillan (of Simon Cowell/American Idol/Grammy Award winner fame) and a 4 piece band called Thief produced by Kipper (Producer on Sting¹s Albums "Brand New Day" and "Sacred Love" and Grammy Award winner).

HANNAH is the most popular female Estonian singer and songwriter currently releasing her first international Album on Snowdog Records UK. Hannah has written and recorded five top selling albums in Estonia and has won three Golden Records "Best Female Artist in Estonia" (2003 and 2004), "Best Album of the Year" (2004 with "Ballads 2") and she has been nominated for six years in different categories winning many awards including "Best Song of the Year" (2001 with "Secretly").

Hannah has been consistently in the Estonian top ten since 1997 and has an enormous following. Hannah¹s beauty and appeal led her to be voted one of the sexiest women in the world by FHM magazine in 2005.

Her style is unique and she wishes to continually evolve her music while allowing the public to appreciate her combination of lyric writing, composing and performance.

"The voice of Hannah is a gift to us all, her sensitivity an honesty are unusual in a singer with such a natural ability. The beautiful simplicity of her music will touch you, and stay with youÐ.", says James McMillan.

THIEF was formed in November 2004 when members from once rivaling bands started jamming and the realization that playing as a band was the musical output they were looking for. Thief distinguishes itself from other contemporary rock bands through the varied musical background of the band which encompasses jazz to metal. This creates a unique musical space and sound.

"Thief fuse a lyrical exploration of the dark side of the human psyche, with incredibly powerful melodies and themes that you will not forget this millennium. Ewert has a great, unique and distinctive voice, plus an original point of view musically, which in my opinion are the essential ingredients for a budding rock star", says Kipper.
